Best Android Widgets for Productivity

Published · Updated · 8 min read

No single widget does everything. A productive home screen uses one widget for your day (an agenda), one for your tasks, and one for quick notes. This list names the widgets that do each job well.

TL;DR

  • Your day at a glance: Super Agenda (agenda list) or Google Calendar (schedule widget with tasks).
  • Task lists with a home or lock screen widget: Todoist or TickTick.
  • Quick notes on the home screen: Google Keep.
  • Tasks that sync with Outlook: Microsoft To Do.
  • Calendar and tasks in one app: Business Calendar 2.
  • A widget built exactly your way: KWGT.

Features and prices checked on 2026-10-23. Widget options change with app updates, so open the widget picker on your phone to see what your version offers. For a calendar-only list, read 8 best calendar widgets for Android.

1. Super Agenda — Best for seeing your day as a list

Android 11 and newer · Free, one-time Pro upgrade

Super Agenda is my own app, so read this entry with that in mind. It shows the events of the calendars on the phone as an agenda list, with optional day headers and an optional timeline. Use one column, or two columns for today and next. The toolbar can add an event, refresh, and open the settings. A tap on an event opens it in the calendar app.

The time settings are free: past events, days ahead, the maximum number of events, and hiding declined or all-day events. You can use a separate widget, with its own calendars, for work and for home. One in-app purchase, Super Agenda Pro, unlocks all style options. There is no subscription, no account and no ads.

Strengths

Limitations

Best for: Meetings and appointments at a glance.

2. Google Calendar — Best for tasks and events in one widget

Android · Free to install

Google's help page says the schedule widget shows your tasks and upcoming events. A second widget shows the month. The Play listing says you can create and manage tasks next to your events in the app.

Strengths

Limitations

Best for: People who already use Google Tasks and Google Calendar.

3. Todoist — Best for a task list with a home or lock screen widget

Android · Free plan, paid Pro plan

The Todoist listing says you can check your daily tasks from a home or lock screen widget and add tasks with a Quick Add tile. The pricing page shows a free plan and a Pro plan with monthly or yearly billing. The listing offers a 7-day Pro trial.

Strengths

Limitations

Best for: Task-heavy work.

4. TickTick — Best for tasks, notes and a built-in planner

Android · Free, paid Premium

The TickTick listing says you can add widgets for tasks and notes to your home screen. It includes a free day planner and can integrate third-party calendars such as Google Calendar and Outlook. TickTick Premium adds themes, a business calendar in grid format and higher limits.

Strengths

Limitations

Best for: People who want one app for tasks and planning.

5. Google Keep — Best for quick notes

Android

Google's Keep Help page lists three home screen widgets: a single-note widget, a note-collection widget, and a quick-capture widget. The Play listing adds that you can pin notes to your home screen with widgets.

Strengths

Limitations

Best for: Shopping lists and quick notes.

6. Microsoft To Do — Best for tasks that sync with Outlook

Android

The Play listing says you can add reminders, tasks and lists with the To Do widget. It says you can sync reminders and task lists between Outlook and To Do, and use several Microsoft accounts.

Strengths

Limitations

Best for: Outlook and Microsoft 365 users.

7. Business Calendar 2 — Best for calendar and tasks in one app

Android · Free with ads, paid Pro upgrade inside the app

The Play listing says the app has 7 widgets (month, week, day, agenda and more), plus tasks with recurring tasks, subtasks and priorities in the premium features. It syncs with Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, Exchange and CalDAV, and links to Google Tasks and Microsoft To Do. The free version has ads. The latest "What's new" note mentions "Pro subscription purchases", so read the billing type on the purchase screen.

Strengths

Limitations

Best for: People who want one planner for events and tasks.

8. KWGT — Best for a widget built your way

Android · Free with ads, Pro upgrade inside the app

The KWGT listing calls it a widget maker with a WYSIWYG editor. You can build clocks, weather widgets, system monitors and more, and it works with Tasker. The listing says the Pro upgrade removes ads. See Super Agenda vs KWGT for how a ready-made widget compares with a build-your-own tool.

A simple setup: one agenda widget at the top of the home screen, one task widget below it. For a layout with one widget only, read a minimalist Android home screen with one agenda widget.

Bottom line

Pick the job first, then the widget. For events, use an agenda widget such as Super Agenda or Google Calendar. For tasks, use Todoist, TickTick or Microsoft To Do. For notes, use Google Keep. Super Agenda has no tasks, so it fits best next to a task app and not in place of one.
