How to Hide Declined and All-Day Events in a Calendar Widget

Published · Updated · 4 min read

In Super Agenda you hide declined events and all-day events with two switches in the time settings. Both switches are free, and the widget updates right away.

Hiding an event in the widget does not delete it. The event stays in your calendar app. The widget only changes what it shows.

Hide declined and all-day events

Super Agenda is a home screen agenda widget for Android 11 and newer. It shows the events of the calendars on your phone. Follow these steps to clean up the list.

  1. Open the settings. Open the Super Agenda app, or tap the settings button in the widget toolbar.
  2. Find the time settings. These settings control which events the widget shows. They are free.
  3. Turn on "hide declined events". Events you declined no longer appear in the list.
  4. Turn on "hide all-day events". All-day items no longer appear. Many birthdays and holidays are all-day events, so check the result before you keep this on.
  5. Check the live preview. The preview in the app matches the widget on your home screen: same events, same size, same look.
  6. Go back to the home screen. The widget shows the same list as the preview.

The labels in the app can differ slightly from the names above. Look for the switches that match.

Your calendar, on your home screen. Super Agenda is a free, very customizable agenda widget for Android. No account, no ads.

All the time settings

Hiding events is one of five time settings. Use them together to get a short, useful list.

Setting What it does Cost
Show past events Keeps events that already ended in the list, or removes them. Free
Days ahead Sets how many days into the future the widget shows. Free
Maximum number of events Stops the list at a set length. Free
Hide declined events Removes events you declined. Free
Hide all-day events Removes all-day items. Free

The calendar choice is free as well. Style options such as colors and layouts need Super Agenda Pro, a one-time in-app purchase.

Example setups

Pick the calendars first

If one calendar adds most of the noise, a calendar choice can fix it faster than a filter. Turn that calendar off in the widget. See How to Show Multiple Calendars in One Android Widget. You can also use separate widgets for work and personal events, as in How to Use Separate Work and Personal Calendar Widgets.
